In July, we reported on an expansion of permitted alcohol sales in grocery stores
. On January 1, this process moved another step forward as a provision of the Tennessee law came into effect. Now "high gravity" beer (beer with an ABW of more than 5%) can be sold in grocery stores. This follows the opening of wine sales in grocery stores in July.
Many of the provisions of the Colorado bill also came into effect on January 1, so we can expect to see sales in grocery stores expand there over the next several years as well.
